Born And Died Poem by Laurence Overmire

Born And Died

You stood at the door, and left
without knocking

I awoke one morning
to find no one there

The cold space between you and me
unfillable

An empty box of eternity
wrapped in paper, on the doorstep

but no hands, capable
to open it.
