Bound By Love's Return Poem by Vola Alexander

Bound By Love's Return

I stopped, then proceeded to leap,
and fell into love again,
electrified by your touch,
igniting serotonin in my brain.
This notion arises with ease,
with trust, as it ought to be,
reassured by your words,
for the way you caught me.
Like yearning for our first kiss,
this feeling was longed for.
I am enveloped and unwrapped
by someone whom I adore.
And as the many moons
eventually come to pass,
without coincidence,
back in my arms, you are at last.
No feeling is more apparent to me
walking through this time.
I was more present to see
this requited love is soothing,
an honorable romance shared with me.
Thus, removing the mask
of my masculinity, safe, and
vulnerable in my femininity.
I plead to you not to despair,
for we are with each other.
Let's build ourselves a future home,
sheltered under a protective dome,
where no other man can penetrate through.
Gripped firmly, I stand beside you.
Take my hand, I heed,
submitting to you, to take the lead.
Words once spoken of this love,
to never lose its youth,
reunited unexpectedly,
I present to you my truth:
That, with undoubted reservation,
of you beholding my sight,
my love for your entire existence
will never cease to take flight.
As we know this matter to be true,
soon you'll set across the vast blue.
Parted by oceans, I'll await your return
to solidify, upon recognition, we'll discern.
Though distance may keep us apart,
from you my soul will not depart.
Together, our union, we continue to claim,
bounded by love's return, you remain.
