Breakfast Poem by Velma Wells

Breakfast

Rush! Rush! Here
Hurry! Hurry! There
I don’t know where I’m going!
I think I’m everywhere!

I haven’t even eaten my cereal
They’re already rushing me!
Stuffing mouthfuls of cereal in my mouth
Why do I have such a weird family?

“The bus is here! ” is what they scream
Pushing me out the door
Man do you see what I mean?
I don’t even have my back pack on

This can’t possibly be normal!
Man this just doesn’t fit!
That’s the life of an 8th grader eating breakfast.
