Breakfast Before Bathing The Red Horse Poem by Andrei Sen-Senkov

Breakfast Before Bathing The Red Horse

as a child peter the great had a toy -
a horse carved out of linden
and covered with a real stallion's
skin.

the russian emperor only died
so that he could see once more
that little red animal
who'd been skinned.

and it joyfully leaped out of its cloud,
like bloody morning bread
out of a shocked beating toaster.
