Breaking Hell's Chains Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Breaking Hell's Chains

Two thousand years have come and gone
Since Truth blind eyes could see
Since Light came forth as Christ God's Son
Man's bound up soul to free

Shackled, fastened, hells chains held taut
Wilful captive, to sin
Doubting the living Christ's report
Endless life to begin

Life's King despised, disrespected
Scorned again and again
God's Son utterly rejected
God's Christ most cruelly slain

Observe life's facts, let truth make wise
Seek Jesus face to face
Pray life's Healer open your eyes
And grant Salvation's grace

Tricky nor difficult never
Join Christ and never die
While devils believe they're clever
Heaven's angels are nigh

Take and open The Father's Book
Jot and tittle ponder
Gathering stones from Heaven's Brook
Before you journey yonder

Not far beyond earth's bright blue sky
Where hope becomes no more
'Too late, too late' lost fools will cry
As hell opens its door

The day is here, the time is now
Make life's ultimate choice
Humble faithful, at Jesus' feet bow
Let love's grace heed your voice.....
