Breaking Through The Facade Poem by Brianna Wilkinson

Breaking Through The Facade

Rating: 2.0

How can I go on any longer?
The force against my fake face..
its growing stronger.

I am not able to keep up anymore,
but I am too afraid to open the door.
You don't know as well as you think,
the real me is hidden within this very ink.

Trust me when I say, please...
just stay away.
I can only keep myself hidden for so long,
once you realize who I am I know I'll look away...
and when I look back you'll be gone.

Every time someone glimpses a little of me through the haze,
Every time they break through my facade.
They run, they hide.
Nobody wants to know what I hold inside.

If you want, I'll confide in you.
I'll take you for the ride.
