Breathe Poem by naomi deluca

Breathe

I put my head between my legs
In search of ease

My heart pounded furiously
As if it were about to give out and jump out of my rib cages

I felt my body buckle
My head, a large screen of memories
Running images of you and I

My stomach churning
A burning sensation sweeps through me
My eyes darting from your lips to your eyes

Your impossible to read
I haven't a clue why,
Why we can't just work things out
Why you had to go through extreme measures

And then I remember to open my mouth,
And breathe.

But that won't help for long,
Because I feel the storm approaching

-To you,
I will always love you.
