Breaths Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Breaths

You rivet me with
Chains on this bed
Where we share
Half of the seas
And all of the heavens -
I am bludgeoned here
As I gaze at you
In front of the escritoire
Tainting me with your
Palette of flambeau
And simmering panache.

Tonight I yield
The distance of
The shivering stars
As they chime the
Counterbalance of the heaven's
Quagmire. You hiss
A silent nostalgia,
You perfect marvel
And I am powerless
Over your timid self.

You cast me into sleep -
A deep rubble of the pirouetting nebula
The visage of the miasma
Flows like a river;
The abyss is here,
You are the light.
The shadows are near,
You are the night.
You are everything
In this world
That I know
Too clear like your
Breaths upon my breath.
