Brevity Is All

Like petals on a yellow flower
that blooms and grows
for both flora and fauna-
The busy bee among the blossoms
shares its brief hour of drunken joy
in the summer sun-
Like the gardener who labors hours
in the hot sun weeding and tending
and whose day is brief as love-
Both men and insects
declare brevity is all!
