Brightness Poem by RAJESHWARI SRINIVASAN

Brightness

Brightness

People around roaming in dark
were disturbed by the Sunshine!
They grabbed the sunshine
tight in their fist,
clenched together without a hitch
they chose a dark square box
to fit in this Hawk!
they released their hands
into the box and then closed tight
relieved of their effort
they returned to darkness.
The sunshine shone in its own way
working at dawn noon till night
next day he grew even more bright
the box with excess within
shone like an illuminated thing
spreading brightness around,
the box also became object of abhor!
