Bring Back My Lost Lover Poem by Rosemary Chipo Sithole

Bring Back My Lost Lover

There was a time,
When his dreams matched mine
His aspirations were a mirror of mine
A time I could finish off his sentence
A time I could exhale his inhalation
Please come back my lover

All is now a figment of imagination
Anger took the place of happiness
Curses took the place of blessings
Bitterness took the place of fondness
Resentment took the place of longing and desire
Please bring back my lover

Threads of hope have replaced cables of faith
Shreds of tolerance have taken the place of the cloth of warm love
Scraps of trust are only left from the heavy metals of conviction
Only bits of conversation are left from our endless prophecies of desire
Crumbs of affection have long since replaced our solid love.
I beg you, help me find my lover

Help me go back the same path I came forth
Lest I come across that we lost
And reignite the doused flame
Help me awaken the sleeping dragon
That he may blow his blaze again
Please, help me eliminate the spell
That my prince charming is revived.
All I want, is my lover back.
