Broken Poem by Daniel Wittfoth

Broken

Rating: 4.7

Just give it back
it's not yours anymore
It wasn't a toy to be played with
now look what you've done
it's broken-broken

Don't touch it anymore
keep your hands to yourself
that's not what I needed
And your words
they once inspired
now they scar me
I taste only bitterness on my lips
never thought love
could hurt so damn much
When it started out so innocent
thought we'd go for a walk
but you took me for a ride
Take it slow
you had to rush it
I lost control
Now I look back
and I hate it
I can't find the words to tell you that
I am here all alone
tears falling and laughing at myself
for being so foolish-so blind
How could I ever
turn back the clock on the wall
to yesterday-only moments before

Just give it back
it's not yours anymore
It wasn't a toy to be played with
now look what you've done
it's broken-broken-
