Broken Poem by Jaid Gilbert

Broken

I let my guard down, to let you in.
But all I received, was disappointment.
You broke my heart, so now my guard is up.
I should have ignored you from the start.
You took me for granted, and all I can say,
Is I'm through with you, and your fake, lying ways.
I never thought you would be the one,
To break my heart, and call it done.
You called the quits, not me.
So now I guess what we had just wasn't it.
I like your friend now.
But, I must say,
I hope I have the strength, to pull away.
