Broken Crown Poem by Isabella Genova

Broken Crown

There once was a king,
who thought that he knew everything.
Throughout the whole kingdom everyone pretended that the king was never wrong,
until one day a little girl came along.
She was young and pretty and only ten,
and had many thoughts flowing through her head.
She was very keen,
and was sickened by what she seen.
She saw people beaten and treated unfair,
but when it came to situations like this,
no one could speak out or else they were sent away to the dragon's lair.
One night the girl gathered up a few villagers and took them to a meeting spot.
She asked 'How can you let this king treat you wrong? '
They answered 'Honey, we're not strong enough to deal with the law.'
The little girl shouted 'Believe in yourself instead of being brainwashed.'
They made secret plans to overthrow the king,
and this was the only time the king knew nothing.
The night came and the little girl a long with the villagers attacked.
They slayed many knights and stabbed the king in his back.
While the villagers held the king down,
the little girl ran up to him and said 'No more of this tyrrany! '
and within seconds she broke his crown.
A few days later after the town was rearranged,
the little girl left the people and replied 'I must be on my way.'
When the villagers asked her why,
she said 'It is my destiny to save more lives.'
