Broken Defenders Poem by maria goodison

Broken Defenders

You promise the world and game nothing and still called it romance.
I listened to your voice but also doubted the truth within your words.
You call me perfect still made sure that cruel manger was there.
Mind games, lies, twisted jokes, blackened emotions.
Has broken my defence's.
