Broken hopes lie scattered where we stood,
Like shards of plans once polished by belief;
They catch the light, misunderstood,
And cut the heart with edges born of grief.
We built them tall on promises of dawn,
On future days that never learned our names;
By nightfall, what we trusted most was gone,
Reduced to ash by unforeseen flames.
Yet even broken hopes can teach the hand
To hold with care what may not always stay;
They school the heart to better understand
How loss can clear a truer, humbler way.
From fragments kept, new faith begins to rise—
Not blind with want, but tempered, still, and wise.
