Broken Legs Fell Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Broken Legs Fell

Rating: 4.5

Stuck to the cliché of life’s big test
Like a chick fallen from its nest
Surrounded by the owls
Who hope to take its only chance
Healing its broken legs and laying it to rest
Owls know what’s best
They’re preying for another to stumble from the nest

Honestly, I can’t help but think
This was your idea of a sick trick
Take me into love and see how far I will fall
Then take a stick and break it apart
“This is us.” Her eyes serious
“Now see if you can start again from the start.”
I tried missy, I tried missy

“My mind is not always on your bed.”
Everything they say in those movies
Isn’t all I ever said
We tried so hard; we tried so hard
Here’s another stick
This one's you
Rip it apart

I love the way it starts, the analogy with the chick which falls from its nest is great, very original, then you reveal the story, and the ending of the poem is WOW, I didn't expect that! Well done! ~~Elya Thorn~~
