Broken Wing - Poem by John Doe

Broken wing
In the storm
Was so prepared
Was so ready

Flapping my wings
Oh the pain
Can only run
Cannot fly

So I run in pain from what
To where
Hide under something
Find a dark corner

Flying for so long
Against nature
Against life
Against myself

So I was nearly there
Just had to wait
One more day
One more week
One more month

No I had to fly
In that storm
I saw
I knew I should wait
But my waiting was over

Just one more flight
Just one more
Then I would reached it
Reached her

I’m broken know
My wing
My wing
Will it heal?

Do I have the energy?
For one more journey
To see her
To be with her

Just one more storm
Just one more
