Brokenness I Saw Poem by Obute Gabriel

Brokenness I Saw

Touches of spark in my heart
As energy emits from my face
Clouds of pain grief me
As water runs down my cheek
With my hands folded to keep me warm
And my heart beats at multiple seconds
I thought it was a film
But couldn’t hold on
It was a brokenness I saw

Flashes of memories run’s my mind
As I cleave my pillow
And pictures of her feelings weigh me down
Even as magic moment went down
I thought it was a fairy tale
As errors and terror came out of my voice
But couldn’t fake the love I feel
It was a brokenness I saw

Oh, brokenness
My joy is hanging on a ride
Heading for emotional trauma
I battle what I fear
Looking defeated as tears gushed out my eyes
I couldn’t stop it
It was a brokenness I saw
The brokenness of my heart
Oh, I’m divided in pains
