Brutal Desertion! Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

Brutal Desertion!

She lay in his lap
And gazed at the stars
As he caressed her hair
The stars dropped tears
At the night's thick snow
Her eyes were thick
With volley of questions
That arrowed at him
As she was redundant
With his silence deep
To her pleas were plummeted
To precarious level
Before his mood to extricate
From the bone of contentions
Of her vociferous argument
For her love to be noticed
And accepted by him!
She choked back tears
On his face foisted
With repugnance
That poised her to question
Who is right
Who is wrong
To herself alone and not to him!
His recalcitrant tone
Put her in strong belief
That he lacks niceties
And he is on the way
To relegate and retreat!
She could see Charon
Where the picturesque valley
Adorned by chandelier
Was not of hope
But of the sentinel
Of a vanishing love!
She got up from him
And move with no designs
In mind with empty thoughts
And never bid adieu
And he stood stared
As if lost nothing
But gained nothing!
