A life for a life
a heart for a heart
a tear turned into a smile
after months of being apart

A hug and a kiss
I don't know what to do
I know I never say it
but baby I miss you

For months we haven't talked
many weeks we've played this game
acting like I just don't care
each time I hear your name

A tear dropp on my pillow
when I talk to him at night
a threat that gets turning your way
by a boy who wants to fight

Your name goes on a bullet
he says, 'one shot and you'll be through'
I tell him if he doesn't stop
I'll take that bullet for you

I may not have a chance
to be with you once more
your safety is all that matters
but you'll be safe from him, I'm sure

I want you to be happy
with everything you do
even if you don't find happiness
between me and you

Although my life will change
my heart will move on
but I can tel you one thing
it won't be the same with you gone
