Burdened Poem by Melissa Ann Thomas

I don't understand
I don't believe
How easily you could do that to me.

You said you loved me
and you were sorry you left.
Then you jumped the gun
and took my last breathe.

I didnt even know that you were on the earth
cause you werent there
when my mom gave birth.

I gave you a chance to get to know me.
I wound up on the ground crying in pain.
No one knew what you turned out to be.
You left a hole and a burden in me.

How did you feel mighty and tall
as i fell to the floor
when i was so small.

I didnt tell a soul
I didn't even hint
when you did what you did.

I dont understand
I dont believe
How easily you could do that to me.
