Burning Memories Poem by Nina gáspari

Burning Memories

I used to hold it so close to me
Tied to my heart
But a confusing breeze
Involved my heart and touched my face
And it took it all away
It´s all as distant as it seems
It´s all so distant from my heart
I used to enjoy being burned by the fire
Now I don´t mind having life burning us apart
Let me stay sober for a moment or two
Let me remain sober, while I drink myself out of you
Distance, you say it´s just a word
Memories, taking inventory of what we were…
