But For Love Poem by Prafulla Kumar Panda

But For Love

Step out once and stand here and look for a moment alone
at the corridor of your mind
surely you do find
him walking on the life's long dreary path alone

being lost in the maze of his thought
now he is almost shaky and torn
though he hasn't covered miles since his journey in the morn
still he seems to be quite tired and parched up to his throat

be still for a moment and zoom in your sight
and look at his burnt marks
at which his fate often barks
and to which life-long he alone fights

you can only smile for having a powerful glow in your heart
which once attracted him, and like a moth he's now burnt
and scarred at heart much before you've learnt
since, like atomic rays, the emission was so powerful and smart

hey! do step out once and stand here for a moment alone
and see how deeper into the maze of his thought he has fallen
be still for a moment and zoom in your sight
and find how love in him once had excercised its might

leaving him scarred and torn for life.
