But I'M Me

If i were a poet,
I had written you the best free verse
With imagery of a golden sun set;
I had recite you a verse of sparkling ocean
Reflecting the radiance of a sinking sun.
If I were a poet,
I had describe my love on a fleshy script
Printed in a bloody coloured ink;
I had render you a present of roasted words
Vested with the immortal power of love.

But I'm just me,
Trying to create a clearer me
With imagery of my troubled heart;
Trying to mend my fragile heart
With pieces you've broken apart.
I'm just me,
Trying to express with one black pen
What a pair of red-lips could not;
Trying to recreate for you and I
A long lost spouses' song.
