But It's All Over Now. Poem by Caitlin Prest

But It's All Over Now.

I need to hear your voice,
you help to keep me sane.
I need to feel your kiss,
you chase away bad dreams at night.

I long to feel you loving touch,
when I'm close enough to feel your heart beat.
I long to feel your hands,
as they run passionately down my back.

I hope to feel your gaze,
as you stare deep into my heart.
I hope to smell your sweet cologne,
so subtle that I have to be close.

I want to feel your lips,
as they wander up my neck.
I want to feel your hair tickle my face,
when you pull me in so close.

I see you smile and nod
at my lame jokes.
I see your eyes look grey and dull,
reflecting all your pain.

I hear you laugh,
it's only me and you tonight.
I hear your breath speed up,
as I nibble on your lip.

I love the way you keep your cool,
even when I'm not.
I love the way you look at me,
like I'm the best you've got.
