Butterfly Poem by Szerra Sakurai

Butterfly

There was a butterfly that landed onto me,
It was as blue as the sky and as beautiful as the sea.
The butterfly left and flew afar.
I asked the person where they were going,
They said they were going somewhere.
It had been long since our farewell,
I wondered what their distance was.
Then, I had a realization that that person was me.
I, who had somewhere to go, had found that the path diverged.
I wondered when that path split and where that person had gone.
If I had known, the butterfly might've come back.
If only the butterfly landed upon me once more.
