Now sleep is my only escape,
as darkness creeps upon my wake.
O' God, spare me my fate.

I can't evade these hollow days
where rainbows break and their color fades.
Now sleep is my only escape.

Ash is the sky, all full of grays.
I'm on my knees steeping in my mistakes,
O' God, spare me my fate.

O' heart, how could you betray
the wake of my love - was it all fake?
Now sleep is my only escape.

I was a fool to think she'd ever stay,
cursing and thirsting along the way -
O' God, spare me my fate.

Perhaps I'll rest forever by the fray,
I just hope the knot doesn't break -
Now sleep is my only escape,
O' God, spare me this fate.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Desperation from a broken heart or loss of faith..hang in there! There is always a brighter spot around the corner..all is not lost..have faith in yourself and be strong..
