Caelum Ex Chao Poem by Leon Moon

Caelum Ex Chao

the most disorderly men
follow their rituals of eating
they may tap their fork twice
before starting
or devour starting solely
from the left hand side

some wear precise shoes
to get drunk
or only drink
on nights when the moon
is invisible to earthly lights

many can only read a book
if the pages do not ascend the letter
and in deed they do not read a letter
whilst standing or in any other chair
than the one dwelling
closest to the kitchen counter

their posture is sacred to them
and they don't require answer
for these disorderly men
are free
as long as they do not partake
in another man's ritual:

yes a man, animal, demon or angel
he must refuse all but his own ritual
for freedom is another word for hell
and this they know but do not tell—
all this in their god given prison cell.
