Calm Poem by Miranda Oney

Calm

Bring peace of mind, dear friend,
to this place of silence.
We shall finally bring an end
to all the pain and violence.
In this haven, you can stay
until your life feels secure.
Hush sweet child, so I may
end your soul's torture.
Quiet down your whimpering breath.
Relax and safe you may feel.
I know right now you're wanting death,
but you'll find this feeling isn't real.
She didn't mean it, those things she said.
Please whipe those tears from your eye.
Please don't wish that you were dead,
for when you do, so will I.
