Cam Lainey On The 7 Poem by David McLansky

Cam Lainey On The 7

Let tears run down your pallid face
To gouge a channel, a liquid trace;
Oh Maiden weep and purge your sorrow
Rain down tears in flooded furrows;
Weep for all your broken dreams
Balm your cheeks with torrent streams;
Release the moans jailed in your throat,
Release your groans here as we float;
Lest that you follow Polonius’ daughter
And drown in madness in weighted waters.
