Can You Fix What You Have Broken? Poem by Jaycee Wilkerson

Can You Fix What You Have Broken?

I traded my mirror
For a computer screen
But Im still seeing
Negitive reflections
On the monitor screen

I dont see face
But Im looking
At my thoughts
on the pages
I see my words
Realizing thoughts
Were weird on the page

They say a picture is worth a
Thousand words
On this computer
I just wrote
2 thousand words

I need my mirror
Because
Im lost for words
My stories
Are still untold

If you read
Between the lines
Maybe then you
Can see the message
That stands out bold

My heart is cold
You gave it ice
My heart is bad
You wasn't nice
Now its out for blood
Because you cut it twice

It takes time to heal
But you dont wear a watch
On my mom I changed
But you didnt take time to see it

If it wasnt for the chains shaken
I wouldnt know my
Heart was still there
Because I cant feel it

Now Im asking for it back
Because you stole it
You dont deserve it!
Yes its broken
I don't you think you can restore it

Even if you can
I still want it back
Because a smile while
Im crying takes the rights
Of you ever holding it again
