Can you let go
of that person you lost
your love for them
hinding the pictures under the bed
an empty place for them to lay
saying your going to throw them away
working up to it
close to the trash
but the top never lifted
you think in your head
probably next time
locking the text
keep from deleting
and from the eye's of your newly wed
reading the message thinking what if
what if you could flip over the hour glass
start remembering thee good
happy thoughts
face in hand
tears flowing
look up
eye of the tiger
about to go looking for the that got away
reaching for the door knob
then the question walks out with you
'why can't I let go'
