Can You See Me Shine Against This Molded Sun Poem by Gabriella Mantone

Can You See Me Shine Against This Molded Sun

I see right through you all. Each and every one, your like a transparent wave of emotions that I can feel. I walk past a force of fake invisibility, my own colors pouncing off the walls of this blank asylum. I try to blend in with the rest, but my own vibrant shades won't disappear, they only hide behind your weak vision. This loneliness seems to wither the intensity that lightens up the room, and as minutes pass my body slowly crawls into a defenseless battle for the feeling to be loved. Is this rainbow of my own self still beating with my slow and broken heart? I want to break free of this stoic cocoon, but I'm not sure who will emerge from this washed out world. I wake every morning and I wear a mask of a silent acceptance to this clear open world. But if you look closely, you can see my bright blue eyes, how they defy the world. Only time will tell when I will walk into the day wearing the colors of an individual. An individual who is set to make a difference.
