Candle In The Works Poem by Mark Hopwood

Candle In The Works

Obscured by a candle,
The way forwards within a shimmering flame
Swaying in the breeze of a million days wasted
Slowly burning away and melting over itself.
And still the flame,
Shining to the Gods of all light
The Sun of a mini-universe growing inside a molecule of wax
Creating and destroying
As it seeps down its candlestick landscape like lava
Cooling, Setting solid
Forming new worlds where-in universes can create themselves
And Expand themselves to fill the many holes of existence.
The ones that are obscured by a candle,
The way forwards within a shimmering flame
Just a million days wasted swaying in the breeze.
