Candlewick -Life Poem by Jerine James

Candlewick -Life

CANDLEWICK- LIFE

Candlewick and I both have less significance when used alone.
She provides warmth and light to people around her, despite her towering and feeble appearance.

She indicates the routes to follow in the dark.
Everywhere she goes, she loves to spread her scent.

Similar to how a candle forms the base of a flaming flame
Life serves as the blank canvas on which our deeds and experiences are painted.
Life is as brittle as the wick.
But resilient, able to stand tall and powerful, fight against the chances of life, shine brightly, and withstand enemies.
Her scent, tranquility, and warmth captivate and soothe others.
As we navigate this roiling boat, life also shines brilliantly.

She burns out as she develops through the stages of growth, transformation, joy, and sadness that contribute to our existence.

Her flame is a representation of dreams and passion. She stands for aspirations, the future, and one's well-being.
Our lives fluctuate over time like they flicker and dance in the wind.

The Candlewick analogy serves as a reminder of life's challenges and uncertainties and the fact that we must all burn to the end at some point.
As we progress through these phases, we must be the light to many, leave a legacy, and leave our reputation like the scent.
May we be the beauty of every flickering flame and be able to illuminate different traits before the wick goes out.
