Lanterns hang low over the arches,
As windswept faces hurry along their paths,
Silent, lost in their thoughts,
In solitude,
Brightly, the sun shines through for a while,
Amidst gathering clouds,
Darkness descends eventually,
And a pale haze lingers in the air,
The first drops of rain fall,
Splattering over muddy roads,
Over famished lands and barren farms,
I look out of the window,
The saplings dance joyously,
Rejuvenated,
Briefly, sanguine skyfire is scarred across the horizon,
As the sun sets
And twilight engulfs the landscape...

''Silent, lost in their thoughts, In solitude'' delicate cognitive metaphor...solitude is enclosed within nature...10++
