Capturing Light Poem by Thomas Hooker

Capturing Light

Time and distance are
not what they appear,
our eyes can see the stars
lightyears away, darting
across the universe,
capturing light
that's been traveling
millions of years to reach
us at this moment.

Light is the key,
it connects everything,
it always has, even
blackholes devour light,
shaken, bent and stretched
the journey defines itself
while we are sleeping,
our eyes opened to the light
and leave with illumination.
