Carina's Wholesale Diamonds Poem by Pedro Cescon

Carina's Wholesale Diamonds

My humble brown eyes saw everything be,
And though I say it, it was no big feat,
Perhaps Carina wasn't important to them as she was to me,
For other eyes around, at the time, couldn't see it,

Perhaps they thought Carina was just a gorgeous lady,
And her smile was worth nothing but parent's formality,
Well, not that she lacked in etiquette, you think, maybe,
But they seemed to see it as mechanically taught normality,

But at each one with feelings rude or vile,
Carina had everything but fake intentions,
I could see the warmth in her smile,
Contradicting the fools's brain's inventions,

And Carina's will was better,
As for to each one she gave a share,
Of her love and joy than rather,
Throw back their judgmental stare,

And the feelings she had,
That though for all seemed fake bonds,
And for them felt so bad,
For me seemed diamonds,

As for they were so priceless,
And such a big attention stealer,
She wasn't seeming a mere hostess,
But a generous diamond dealer
