Case Rested Poem by Jeff Law

Case Rested

Case rested, water tested
Time invested, myself neglected
Inspected, results are unaffected
Leave me unattended, is something not recommended
Unmended or broken, words are rarely spoken
The web is woven, case is closed and
I’ve barely been awoken
I slumber, wake to deleted numbers
You mumble, and I fumble
My emotions in a jumble
As my morale it takes a tumble
Descent is downwards, cowards hide
As I ascent my way to power, cower as I feast
Devour the minutes of every hour
Unappreciated, underestimated
Understated, I stated
Glad for you I waited
Although my heart is weighted
Tossed and turned, how I debated
My fate is written out for me
Long to begin my journey
Waited an eternity
To see my sidekick next to me
Successful, too stressful
Success is there to test you
This cesspool, I’m drowning
With no-one to say bless you
