Celine Dion And The President. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Celine Dion And The President.

A word went out, a bitter sting,
Trump at Céline, harsh words to fling.
He called her 'woke, ' an 'insult' grim,
To faith and God, a twisted hymn.

But Céline rose, a voice so strong,
Before the crowd, where she belonged.
Not meek, not mild, but standing tall,
She answered back, heard by all.

'He says I hurt the holy name? '
Her words, like fire, put him to shame.
'What hurts is greed, and hearts of stone,
Taking from those who stand alone.'

'What hurts is hate, and tearing apart,
Families bound, right from the start.
What hurts is war, a bloody stain,
On innocent lives, a constant pain.'

'What hurts is lies, and secrets kept,
While justice sleeps, and the innocent wept.
I'm not perfect, I'm flawed and real,
But love and kindness, I truly feel.'

'Can heaven have war, can heaven have hate?
Then why on Earth do we tolerate? '
Her voice rang out, a powerful plea,
For love and hope, for you and me.

Trump's words were meant to wound and sting,
But Céline's answer made our spirits sing.
A moral stand, a fearless art,
A message spoken, from the heart.

Celine Dion And The President.
