Cellarwife shrill me a tune on your reed Poem by Piet Gerbrandy

Cellarwife shrill me a tune on your reed

Cellarwife shrill me a tune on your reed
bring refreshment at noon for I thirst

for fortress of blue snapping stillness for
frost in the ground for the shining gesture of orion.

Awesome are the fastenings of your weight denying stays.
Addictive are the morsels on your self-baked platter.
Warped is your sisters' greed for knowledge.

Atticwife stretch me a beam under rooftile
blasting lightning knit me a heel so I may

take flight shape me a swallow that outwits
drones as the evening yawns wide open.

Woolly vixens set out from their reeking strongholds.
The woodworm gnaws steadily at its nocturne.
The fungus spreads over acres of forest.

Verandahwife bear me acceptance.
