Celtic's Player Of The Year 2012. - Poem by THE HOLY POET

Who's your player of the season? Some say Charlie Mulgrew
He's got green and white blood, a Celt through and through
He's played every position and starred in more roles
Than a whore in a brothel yet still managed some goals!
With a Beckenbauer flair and an elegant poise
He's just so proud to play here, he's one of the Bhoys.
Then there's our captain, Oor Broonie, Scott Brown
Mad as a Hatter, always acting the clown
But no matter which role or what mantle he takes
He does it with pride, Celtic's honour's at stake.
His passion erupts when he sees players down
And they all lift their game, that's respect Mr Brown.
You've had your critics but you proved them all wrong
And those same guys now praise and salute you in song.
Gary Hooper's another who wears eighty eight
And the strongest defences he leaves in a state
Our dark eyed destroyer is always a threat
And his smile lights up Glasgow when the ball's in the net
His pace and precision, neat flicks and control
There's nothing quite like it when he scores a goal.
Some go for Joe Ledley, playing out on the left
His tackles are crunching, his touches so deft
He's our unsung hero who's at home on the wing
The quiet assassin with a helluva sting.
James Forrest, a young man, with the world at his feet
Whose whole body shakes at the thought of defeat
On the 15th of October when the Bhoys were 3 down
Our little right winger turned the league right around.
Did he win us the trophy, our first in 4 years?
Young player of the season? That's down to his peers.
