Centrocity Poem by Dougal Pentleton

Centrocity

Rating: 5.0

It truly bothers me
when people have a learning, high degree
i was brought to believe
the only intellect was me
plagued with insecurity
now i must suffer the indignity
to practise what i preach
with the mainstream community
unable to coast i must go ashore
and trek the dunes
the water is nil parched is my thirst
to slake my dry tongue. damnation
guard my keep
is to void emotion
autism.
an excuse
an alternate reality
a path which can not be worn
introversion is my solitude
behind walls of mute
as time wears
precipitation cracks the rock
shell fractured
floundering i hatch
with eyes i must now see
outside the mind
the world is '2D'
the dimensions you and me
