Challenging The Universal Monarch Poem by Cassaries Johnson

Challenging The Universal Monarch

God, allow me now to speak
For I have a word for thee
I know what even you seek;
To say, “All obey only Me.”

I will not fuel your ego,
And be just another pawn;
You waste your time, you should go,
My decision stands ‘til last dawn

Call me a sinner, I dare you!
To me it would be an honor
If religion is servitude,
Then let me be damned forever

You may say I’ll go to Hell,
Hell is for those you find “evil”;
Where you sent your favorite angel
For questioning you, then to call him Devil

What you teach I will consider,
But I will not let or want your control;
Lastly, as a final word,
Your absolution cannot be whole

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem when I denounced religion and became an atheist. I had been a moderate Christian my whole life, but I realized that believing in something blindly is not good for thought, and will make you very gullible.
This poem mainly addresses what I would do if the Christian god were real.
