Chameleon Of The Dark Poem by Leaking Pen

Chameleon Of The Dark

I sailed the seven seas
I put on hold my dreams
But not the one dream
I cherished the most
The touch from your lips
On my heart, my only bliss.

The irony of it all
I sailed away to improve my station in life
Just for you, while fate fought me
And mocked my new orientation.
When I came back knocking on your front door
To ask for your hand in marriage
Fate showed me the backdoor.

I swore to avenge my love
For true love needs a protector
From the weight of a purse
And greed and backstabbing
The early bird catches the worm,
That's what I honestly did before my return.
I am rich but not rich enough in today's standards.
My heart now is the heart of every storm.

I lost my way
On my way back to you
Bitterness is sweet
When it is the only treat
I slaved my way in life
Sold my soul and its light.
And vengeance took hold of me
How could pure love turn into a wrong?
I became chameleon of the dark
Lucifer guided my new walk
I became Nosferatu
I am obsessed with you.

If I cannot posses you
My love, my Mina
I will possess others
A temporary fix
I commit my
Addiction to the kill
But it does not satisfy my ill-gotten will
This hunger in my soul
Can never end my toil.

When would this cycle be broken?
When would the day come to release my soul?
I wait for the moment of my release from
Endless nights of no rest and sleep.
Release me my dear Mina to the arms of true love
Put and end to my daily nightmares
If I can not have you in your world
Meet me in the spiritual world
Where you and I are the light of each day
And colour the blossoms of every April, May and June,
We roam free like the hummingbirds.
My poem finds its footings
Redemption is its setting.

A new legend is born
True love is our wedding gift.
Word by word, breath for breath
In every wedding speech
Example about our love is read.
Blessed is the union of two
Groom in a tux and the bride in a wedding dress.
We inspired Felix Mendelssohn to compose his Wedding March,
And encouraged Richard Wagner to follow suit.
Even Johannes Brahms preconceived his famous Lullaby,
In anticipation of the fruit from our spirits.
Parades are held in every city, town, and village,
Each summer, marching bands play Sousa's composition
To celebrate the memory of our union
And sadness last frowns.
