Chance Poem by Jackie Chou

Chance

Give me a chance.
Be it a ray of light
squeezing through the blinds
on days you cannot see the sun.
Give me a chance,
like a single lottery ticket
winning the jackpot.
Give me a chance,
like a recalcitrant child
promising to change.
Give me a chance,
like a wildflower peeking out
from a crevice in the concrete road.
Give me a chance,
like Cinderella marrying the prince.
