Change Poem by Kevin L. Jacobs

Change

Rating: 5.0

The air outside brings a young me to
Coastal carefree cosmic rendezvous
When laughter was second nature to the boy I knew
Running backwards along the shore

It carries me through a vibrant noise
Humming of God's lovely voice
I sing along with innocent joy
With waves crashing at my feet

When did the changes come?
Where did such change come from?
I must have closed my eyes for a second
A lonely little second
To open and find myself in a blur

When did these changes come?
Where did such change come from?
I closed my eyes for a second
A lonely little second
To open and find I miss the boy

The air outside brings a young to me
Tired but yearning for the open sea
Taking flight over lost memories
To the boy I once knew

The silence that only my soul moves to
Is waiting for another rendezvous
I will find again the boy I once knew
With waves crashing at my feet.
