L. K. Thayer

Rookie (Fargo, North Dakota)

Change - Poem by L. K. Thayer

you landed like a carrier pigeon

in my heart

opening it like a valentine

with shadows and light

illuminating my way

with a click and a new gaze

now as seasons change

and the ice of Winter has

taken it’s toll

Spring arrives without you

and I must continue
