Change Poem by Nitya Swaruba

Change

I hate it, this change
I can't rate it, it's beyond range
I didn't see it coming—drat!
It's driving me crazy—rats!

What was tantalizing, glittery
Is now a maddening mystery
All that glory turned to a bore
Now that you've come to the fore

I reach out my hand to touch
What I've known and I've loved much
My mind and soul almost surrender
Then you come along and make it all a blunder

Why are you even here, change?
You make my thoughts feel deranged
They've all changed today
Precious things you could have let stay

Some of what I see
I can't conceive
It is so hard to agree
It's beyond belief
I ponder, I wonder
Is it just me?
Nope, even in a million years
This change won't grow on me.
